En el Supermercado

Here is another song I like to use to teach children when we are learning food.

En el supermercado

En el supermercado se venden muchas frutas:
Naranjas, uvas, limones, sandia, melones.

En el supermercado se venden legumbres:
Guisantes, papas, cebollas, tomates, lechuga.

En el supermercado se venden comestibles:
Harina, queso, azucar, aceite, cafe.

Below you can click on my grandchildren singing so you can hear the tune.

I always am fascinated as I talk about food because the vocabulary is so different in so many places. I learned most of my Spanish in Bogota, Colombia so I use those words, for instance, corn is "choclo" there. No one around here, Texas and mostly Mexicans, would have any idea what I am talking about.

Try teaching the song to your children and let me know how it works.
