Giveaway- Mientras Se Enfria El Pastel

I am so excited about this giveaway! This book is one of our favorites. The illustrations are darling, the story unique and it is a great counting book that goes along with telling the time. I know you will LOVE this book. The wonderful Colombian author/illustrator, Claudia Rueda, has generously offered to give one person this book. This book is completely in Spanish.

My all-time favorite children's book is, "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie..." Of course I have so many others too. I also love the colorful illustrations by Eric Carle, who is featured on the Google homepage today.

Of all of Claudia Rueda's books, I am most interested in "Nacho and Lolita." I also noticed that she has a nice collection of children's art and games on her website that compliment the books!

We really like "Mommies say Shh" by Patricia Poloco.

That's a hard one- there are so many great children's books! We just read a fun one called "Captain Flinn and the Pirate Dinosaurs" by Giles Andreae & Russell Ayto - my boys LOVED it!

I thought the Three Blind Men and an Elephant looks very interesting. They all look good!

Tati, I love all your great finds!! I´m going to get this one if I don´t win ;)
Camila still doesn´t really sit still long enough to be read anything, but she has been liking ¨La Oruga Hambrienta¨...a classic. She loves repeating the names of the fruit and food. Cute.

I don't have a favorite yet but if I have to pick one it would be: The Very hungry Caterpillar, I used to love this book ever since I was a child!

Right now we're reading "La mujer que brillaba aún más que el sol." I thought my kids weren't old enough for it, but they found it on the bookshelves and loved it!

Love your blog.

As a child, I loved "The Giant Jam Sandwich"...and I still have it memorized today.

My children's most recent favorite is a book about homophones called "Dear Deer" by Gene Baretta. (Google it -- you will love it!) Clever, educational, and so fun!

Nacho and Lolita looks like a lot of fun...a book that could carry us away into another world with its amazing illustrations! Thanks!

I love the premise of "Tres ciegos y un elefante." I'm sure there's a lesson to be learned in that one!

I'd also have to say I'm drawn to "Nacho and Lolita," mostly because as missionaries we lived with some wonderful people named Lolita and Papa Nacho, her father. I miss them!

I emailed just about everyone in my address book who speaks Spanish. It looks like my blog post only drew one person over here, so maybe a targeted email will be more effective! (...Not that I necessarily want to decrease my chances of winning, but... You have so much good stuff here, it's hard to not share it!)

Thanks for the fun ideas and great giveaways!

I have visited Claudia's Site and I think that Ozu's Luck would be the most fun for my family because we are so interested in farm animals right now. The cover illustration was very eye catching!

Nacho and Lolita looks like a fun book. My daughter gets two days of French and a 1/2 day of Spanish each week at school. We have lots of French books, but not many Spanish ones so I'm thrilled to find out about Claudia Rueda's site.

Thanks for your comments on my blog- I feel like I've made my first blog friend :-) I have two blogs- a family one and the one you found and I haven't told too many people about that one. I really love your blog and will be checking it often for more ideas! By the way, I'm a friend of the Conductor- she referred me here. I also had a cousin that served in Honduras- Elder Pearson- le conoces?
